A social media post on Facebook by user Anthony Karlo on the 2nd of April 2026 claiming that South Sudanese Juba-based comedian, Rocka Ringo, was arrested is false.
The alleged arrest is reported to have happened after comedian Rocka Ringo made a video reacting to comments made by Kuol Manyang Juuk about South Sudanese being lazy and that they should eat reptiles, especially frogs and lizards and snakes.
The post, which was accompanied by pictures of Rocka Ringo, Kuol Manyang Juuk and some AI-created pictures of frog sandwiches and lizards, attracted over 900 reactions, 277 comments and 43 shares at the time of publication.
Bul First (archived), Agony Across (archived), and Greater Tong Worldwide Nation (archived) are other sources that posted stories, with the same claim.

Debunking the Claim:
A Google search of the keywords “comedian Rocka Ringo attested due to a live commentary on Gen. Kuol Manyang Juuk” returned no evidence showing the comedian was arrested (archived).
The ClarityDesk also obtained a social media post link where the comedian Rocka Ringo himself on his official Facebook page dismissed the claim that he had been arrested, saying that he had not been arrested.
In his follow-up clarification, Rocka Ringo explained that his live video was misinterpreted and not intended as an attack or disrespect toward any individual. He emphasized that his remarks were made in a personal context and were not politically motivated, adding that he remains neutral and respectful toward all parties

There has also been no confirmation from security authorities, family members, or credible media outlets in Juba regarding the alleged arrest.
Our Verdict:
The ClarityDesk finds the claim that comedian Rocka Ringo was arrested to be false. Comedian Rocka Ringo said in a Facebook live video that he is fine and safe and that he has not been arrested.
