Uganda declared Ebola Free Country in July 2026

The PDF announces that Uganda has officially declared the end of the 2026 Ebola Disease outbreak as of July 28, 2026. Following a successful 42-day monitoring period with no new cases, the Ministry of Health confirmed that the country is now Ebola free. This outbreak was characterized by a fully documented importation event from the Democratic Republic of Congo, with a total of 20 confirmed cases, 18 recoveries, and 2 fatalities. Significant advancements in outbreak response and investigation techniques, including genomic analyses and enhanced surveillance, contributed to managing and controlling the outbreak effectively.
