Press Statement on South Sudan 2026 Election Code Endorsement

The Political Parties Council (PPC) of the Republic of South Sudan has officially endorsed the Election Code of Conduct during its plenary session on June 16, 2026. This Code aims to regulate the operations and ethics of political organizations, promoting democratic integrity and outlawing intimidation and hate speech. The PPC also announced the appointment of regional coordinators and inspectors to oversee electoral activities and ensure compliance across the country. Additionally, political parties are reminded of the registration deadline of June 30, 2026, after which unregistered parties will lose eligibility to contest in the upcoming December 2026 general elections.
