A claim published on Facebook by Naath Voice on 7 March 2026 alleges that the acting SPLA/M-IO chairman, Nathaniel Oyet, met with the President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, at the White House in Washington, DC, but this is false.

“Thank God our voice reaches the White House in Washington DC… The Acting Chairman of SPLA/M-IO, Nathaniel Oyet, meets U.S. President Donald J. Trump… The end of Salva Kiir’s leadership.”

Reports from Radio Tamazuj and Sudans Post show that Nathaniel Oyet, the acting SPLM-IO chairman, has been in the US to shore up support for his party, but none reported instances of him meeting the US president Donald Trump.
