A Facebook post published by Nation in Review on 26 February 2026, which claims that President Salva Kiir has suspended his daughter, Adut Salva Kiir, from her role as Senior Presidential Envoy for Special Programs, is false.

“We have just confirmed that President Salva Kiir has suspended his daughter, the senior presidential envoy who also doubles as shadow acting president,” the Facebook post reads in part.

The post has since garnered 1,600 reactions, 188 comments, and 28 shares at the time of publication.

Debunking the Claim:

A Google keyword search for the words ‘President Salva Kiir suspended his daughter from her role as Senior Presidential Envoy’ and a thorough search for the specific ‘Breaking News’ headline yielded no supporting evidence or credible media coverage.

The information is not being reported by any legitimate or credible news outlets. Neither the official presidential Facebook page nor the special envoy’s page have announced anything of the same or similar news recently.

According to an 18 March 2026 news report by national broadcaster SSBC, the Senior Presidential Envoy on Special Programmes, Adut Salva Kiir, visited the South Sudanese Embassy in Pretoria, South Africa while on official duty.

Our Verdict:

The ClarityDesk finds a claim that President Kiir Mayardit has suspended the senior presidential envoy on special programs to be false. There is no evidence either from the Office of the President or the special envoy’s office saying the same.
