Policy Brief South Sudan National Social Insurance Fund

The NSIF Policy Brief outlines a framework for implementing the National Social Insurance Fund (NSIF) in South Sudan, emphasizing the importance of building trust among workers through transparency and accountability. It presents six priority recommendations essential for establishing a credible NSIF that workers can trust. These include forming an independent governing board, publishing regulations, creating individual employee accounts, safeguarding funds, conducting stakeholder consultations, and adopting a phased implementation strategy. The document highlights a two-phase approach where the government first implements the NSIF for its employees to demonstrate system integrity before expanding to other sectors.
