The Communiqué of the Catholic Bishops of the Ecclesiastical Province of Juba, South Sudan, addresses the local population with compassion and concern. The bishops also raised concerns about violence along the borders with Uganda and the threat of disease, specifically the reported cases of Ebola. They called for assistance for those affected by food insecurity due to adverse weather conditions. Additionally, they highlighted the need for peace and democratic processes in light of the upcoming national elections scheduled for December 22, 2026, which coincide with Christmas. They emphasized the importance of promoting peace, justice, and the dignity of all individuals in South Sudan.
