Bank of South Sudan prevents SSP Currency hoarding and speculative foreign exchange activities

The Bank of South Sudan (BoSS) has issued a circular aimed at preventing the hoarding of South Sudan Pounds (SSP) and speculative foreign exchange activities. The directives are intended to protect monetary and financial stability, ensure transparent operations within the foreign exchange market, and prevent practices that could distort exchange rates or create artificial scarcity of currency. The circular defines currency hoarding and outlines legitimate currency holdings, emphasizing that possession for lawful purposes does not constitute hoarding.
