AU Education Summit 2025 is not an African Union initiative

Claims that an event promoted as the “AU Education Summit 2025” and an “AU Education Summit Ambassador Application Form” circulated via the website www.aueducationsummit.com and a Google Forms link are legitimate initiatives of the African Union are false.

AU Education Summit 2025. Building partnerships with education partners from the African continent to educate an African fit for the 21st Century,” reads a welcoming message on the website’s homepage.

Debunking the Claim:

The African Union Commission (AUC), specifically through its Department of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, has issued a public disclaimer categorically stating that the “AU Education Summit 2025” event and its associated ambassador application form are not legitimate initiatives of the African Union.

Here are the key points from the AUC’s official statement, which The ClarityDesk confirms debunks these claims:

The African Union Commission explicitly states that the purported “AU EDUCATION SUMMIT 2025” is “not an initiative of the African Union, nor is it endorsed, organised or affiliated by the African Union Commission, or any of its departments or organs.”

The AUC has confirmed that the website www.aueducationsummit.com and the Google Forms link associated with the “AU Education Summit Ambassador Application Form” were “neither developed, approved, or disseminated by the African Union.”

The use of the African Union’s name, logo, or any related institutional references, including names and pictures of staff members, without authorization is strictly prohibited. The AUC emphasizes that such unauthorized use “constitutes a violation of AU’s intellectual property and institutional integrity.

The African Union Commission “categorically states that it has not organized the purported Summit.”

Our Verdict:

The ClarityDesk has found claims of an AU Education Summit 2025 and an AU Education Summit Ambassador Application Form as initiatives of the African Union to be FALSE. These are fraudulent and unauthorized representations according to a public disclaimer from the African Union.

The African Union Commission advises all stakeholders, including youth, educators, and prospective applicants, to exercise extreme caution, refrain from sharing personal information or engaging with these unauthorized platforms, and always verify all official communications from the African Union through their official channels like the main African Union website, ensuring they do not click on suspicious links or fill out forms from unverified sources claiming to be associated with the AU.
