The Nyepo Ethnic Group

The Nyepo ethnic group is a unique Karo or Bari-speaking tribe located in Kajo-Keji County, Central Equatoria State, South Sudan. Their community is formally recognized as Nyepo, although it has various alternative spellings. The group’s history and identity are preserved through oral traditions and historical manuscripts, which indicate that their ancestors primarily migrated from Southern Bari.
