Debunking the Claim:

A keyword search on X (formerly Twitter) led us to a post by the Daily Iran Military X profile (formally Twitter), with the bio “Updates on the Islamic Republic of Iran Armed Forces | Commentary.

The post shared at 6:34 PM on June 13, 2025 reads, “Everyone will feel it.” It gained over 107 million views, 15,400 reposts, 30,200 quotes, 181,000 likes and 15,500 bookmarks.

The post “Everyone will feel it” from @IRIran_Military (archived link) did not have the words “…including the youngest country South Sudan” as claimed by Insight Juba. This shows that the original post has been altered.

Despite the account’s claim of official status, community notes on X highlight it as unofficial, suggesting the post may amplify propaganda rather than reflect verified military intent, a tactic noted in studies of state-sponsored social media during conflicts, for example the Journal of Cybersecurity, 2021.

An example of an official and verified account of Iran on X is that of the Foreign Ministry, Islamic Republic of Iran.

Verdict:

The post published by Insight Juba on Facebook “…including the youngest country South Sudan” is an altered version of a post on X (formerly Twitter) using an unofficial account.
